The Open Automaton Project

A new LinuxDevices.com article provides an overview of Dafydd Walters' open robot reference design project, better known as the Open Automaton Project. The article points out the differences between Walters' goal of an actual hardware implementation and the goals of other standards projects such as the RETF and OROCOS - whose goals are primarily concerned with APIs and software. There are also photos and a nice block diagram that gives an overview of the entire implementation.
