The December issue of Linux Gazette includes a short article by Pramode C.E demonstrating how to use Pulse Width Modulation directly from the parallel port with Linux/RTAI systems. RTAI is a commonly used set of kernel patches that give Linux real time capabilities. The article includes source code that demonstrates PWM by modulating an LED. This story seems the perfect way to follow yesterday's story on the growing use of Linux in robotics.
