General Unified Robot Simulator

Posted 8 May 2001 at 13:26 UTC by steve Share This

The General Unified Robot Simulator (GURS) was created by Jesper Rasmussen to support his masters thesis. The simulator is written in C++ and provides a framework for 2D simulation of robots, sensors, and actuators. The general idea of the software is to use the simulated environment to evolve control software using genetic algorithms. A simulation of LEGO wheeled robots is provided that can evolve robots for line-following, obstacle avoidance, and other tasks. The software currently runs on Linux and is free software under the GNU GPL license.
