Robot Rocket Wins MIT Design Contest

Posted 24 Feb 2004 at 16:44 UTC by steve Share This

MIT recently sponsored the first annual Soldier Design Competition. The winning entry (PDF format) was a small, disposable, robot rocket called TacShot that flies to 100 meters and returns panoramic images of the surrounding territory to a laptop computer. The TacShot team is now going on to enter the MIT 50K Business Plan Competition. And they've started a company that already has an Air Force contract. For more, see the MIT press release on the winners.
