When I was in Big Bear, California I actually saw the Lost In Space rover (transport vehicle) while going over a valley in a ski lift. Sadly, it looked like some kids had already decided to throw rocks at it, broken windows and such, but there it was.
I'd heard someone bought the Chariot back from the ski lift company in order to restore it and I tracked down this link with the story:
