A new Haaretz.com article gives a detailed account of the 12th World Computer Chess Championship which was held last month in Bar-Ilan University Israel. The article notes that there wasn't really much for the humans to do. "During the competition itself we are the computer's robots. We do what it tells us" says Shay Bushinsky, creator of Deep Junior, one of the chess programs. The article also goes over some of the history of chess-playing machines. Photos of the event are available on the Bar-Ilan University website.
