Robotic Airplane To Do Polar Research

Posted 18 May 2001 at 21:42 UTC by The Swirling Brain Share This

BBC has an article about how a robotic plane aids polar research. The plane is made by Aerosonde Ltd. and Aerosonde North America Inc. which makes the Aerosonde robotic aircraft. The craft can fly up to 24 hours without refueling and can even fly in very poor icy polar weather. Test flights have already been carried out in Alaska. This airbot is very cool [rimshot].
