MIT Nano-Walker

New Scientist is carrying a story about Sylvain Martel's work at the MIT Bio-Instrumentation Lab. Martel is working on Nano-robotics and has developed something he calls a Nano-Walker. The Nano- Walker is a 12mm autonomous robot with three Piezo-ceramic legs that can carry a variety of sensors including a scanning tunneling microscope. The tiny robots will be used for inspection and measurement systems.
