Jean-Paul Blaquiere writes about a recent ESA news article, saying it "describes the first field demonstration of a commercial robot which is being used to stabilise sheer cliffs against landslides in Italy". The teleoperated, four-legged Roboclimber is a BIG robot. It weighs 3800 kg and is 2 meters by 2.5 meters in size. It prevents landslides by drilling into sheer cliffs and inserting stabalizing rods.
