Posted 26 May 2001 at 14:30 UTC by steve Share This

VideoRay, an 8lbs, shoebox-sized ROV was used to make a survey of the USS Arizona. The survey was done in cooperation with National Geographic to determine the structural integrity of the aging ship and to help determine the source of oil that has been leaking from the wreck since it was sunk in the WWII attack on Pearl Harbor. Additional photos are available at the National Geographic site.
