Real-Time Linux on a Soccer Robot

A new LinuxDevices.com article by Huang Yi, of the SJTU RoboCup team, describes the third generation soccer robot that placed fifth at the most recent RoboCup competition. The robot, which runs RTLinux, uses two color camers for vision and a laser range finder for goal keeper location. The robot uses two compuers, a laptop for high level control and a TI TMS320LF2407A DSP for motion control. The article also shows the first and second generation robots that used SICK LMS scanners.
