A Reuters press release said that patients are not afraid of robot-assisted cardiac surgery and many are even demanding it over human surgery. The robot-assisted surgery results in less pain, less bleeding, less scarring, and less risk of infection. Recovery time for robot-assisted surgery is about half that of human surgery.
