Toy Firefighter Robot Sparks Lawsuit

According to a USA Today article, a toy firefighting robot has touched off a lawsuit between rival sellers. Papa-Sans Toys imports the toy Firefighter robot from China and distributes it through Jay Brotter, who then sells them on his Robot Island website for $279. The hefty price is apparently due to the toy being a limited edition. Meanwhile, a competing toy robot store, Neat Stuff!, is alleged to have posted an ad for the same robot with a price of $89 and a claim that they were sold out. Papa-Sans Toys is suing Neat Stuff! claiming they are not an authorized distributor and put up the ad just to hurt sales on Robot Island by making it look as though the higher priced site was engaged in price gouging. The alleged ad is not presently visible on the Neat Stuff! site.
