16 Papers from Real-Time Linux Workshop

LinuxDevice.com has published 16 papers presented at the Seventh Real-Time Linux Workshop held in Lille, France, November 3-4, 2005, at the University for Science and Technology of Lille. While they cover a range of topics, two are specifically about the use of Linux in robots: Real-Time Reactive Control Layer Design for Intelligent Silver-Mate Robot on RTAI (PDF format), Development of robot controllers based on PC hardware and open source software (PDF format), The other papers are more general but still of interest to robot builders. They cover the use of Real Time Linux on ARM, PowerPC, and Intel architectures. Other topics covered by the papers are soft real time Linux, the history of Real Time Linux, realtime drivers, networking with Firewire, benchmarking performance, and more.
