There's big news about a new Artifical Heart that has been implanted in a patient. Researchers from the University of Lewisville in Lewsisville, KY with Abiomed, Inc. have implanted the aritifical heart named AbioCor at Jewish Hospital. Sounds like the Aibo robotic dog doesn't it? A previous artifical heart implantation was attempted around 1982 on the dentist Barny Clark who lived only 112 days after the implant and died a cruel death of infections and strokes caused by the device. Other articles can be found on this subject at CNN, ABC News, The Dallas Morning News, MSNBC, Slashdot and probably countless other news sites.
