Robot Exhibit at the Royal Museum

Posted 20 Feb 2006 at 14:59 UTC by The Swirling Brain Share This

The Royal Museum in Edinburgh, Scotland opened an Interactive Science and Technology Gallery which, among other things, includes a Robot Exhibit. The Science and Technology Gallery starts this week and runs through March 31st. The exhibit includes Freddie the "first" thinking bot, an industrial arm, reaction time test, design a robot game, robot explorer exhibit, robot ships. The coolest of the exhibits seems to be the robot ships. For robot ships, you can move some oil spots on a tabletop and then watch as the virtual oil searching robotic ships try to locate the oil spill so other virtual robot oil cleaner ships can go there to clean up the oil spill. The Robot Ships exhibit is virtual, of course, but it would be cool to see the real thing built!
