Researchers at Sandia National Labs have upgraded a REMOTEC Wolvernine Bomb Disposal Robot with new software that makes the robot more autonomous. The newly developed software, called Sandia Modular Architecture for Robotics and Teleoperation (SMART), is designed to allow the robot to make many of its own decisions while still following the commands of an operator. More details and photos of the robot in operation are available from the Sandia Labs press release.
