Kawanda Industries has developed a humanoid robot called Isamu that is powered by dual Pentium III processors running RT-Linux. Isamu is 1.5 m high and weighs 55 kg. The bipedal robot is completely self-contained, can walk at 2 km/hr, can ascend and descend stairs with steps up to 25 cm high. The robot also boasts dual cameras and face recognition software.
