Region and Boundary Shape Perception

Stella X. Yu and Jianbo Shi of the CMU Robotics Institute have published a new research report entitled Perceiving Shapes through Region and Boundary Interaction. The report presents a new algorithm for shape perception by studying the interaction between region and boundary cues. The algorithm could be applied to AI or robot vision systems.
