According to an MIT news story, after 10 years as director and 4 as assistant director of MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), Rodney Brooks is stepping down. He will continue as CSAIL director until June of 2007. After that, he plans to return to teaching and spend time working on theoretical research in adaptive computation. His goal is to apply the adaptability of biological system to computation and robotics.
