Interior Spatial Data Collection Robots

Posted 6 Oct 2006 at 18:16 UTC by steve Share This

Roland Piquepaille writes, In an article about GIS and Robotics, Directions Magazine reports that architects and other professionals can now use spatially intelligent robots to collect interior space data. With such mapping robots, it's possible to capture accurate data for over 10,000 square meters per day and to easily integrate it with your existing software. Even if the article is interesting, I regret that it doesn't mention the sources for its illustrations about these robotic systems built by Penobscot Bay Media, a woman-owned Maine company. You'll find more details and pictures about these mapping robots on my blog.

One of those sort of jobs that when you think about it you realise robots should be the only workers, such a 2006 waste of time for humans, hope the idea catches on fast around the world, far better productivity for all.
