Mobile Robots MURDOC and ROHAS from InTouch Health are making the rounds at Houston's Methodist Hospital, giving critically ill patients better access to physicians via 2-way real-time video and audio. The RP-7 remote presence robot sports a pan/tilt/zoom head, omnidirectional drive, IR sensors and vision for collision avoidance, and an 802.11 wireless connection. An expansion bay can accept medical equipment such as echocardiograms, ultrasound, and bedside monitors. |
