Talking Robots: Auke Ijspeert

Markus Waibel writes, "I am very happy to announce a Talking Robots podcast interview with Auke Ijspeert on his amphibious salamander robot, which is currently all over the news (see here for a few links: Science, BBC, CNN, USA Today). He gives us an in-depth view on how his robot can perform complex locomotion tasks - including gait changes from swimming to walking - in spite of only simple, high-level control inputs. In addition to his work on the salamander, he is working on similar motor control for robot fish, snakes and humanoids."
