RobotsMore Vexplorer Info Turns up in Robot Magazine

Tom Atwood of Robot Magazine writes, "We have more info on the Vexplorer offering, plus a preview of a hybrid design created by Ken Gracey of Parallax—he hooked a 4-cycle engine to an alternator to power an outdoor robot; our post includes a schematic, video and a few paragraphs of Ken’s intro. The article will appear in the Fall 07 Robot. We have also launched a 4Bottle robot contest that you might find worth reporting. A few prizes will go to the winners. " (the video clips are in proprietary WMV format, so they can't be viewed on some systems). The contest looks interesting. It's a 2 meter square course with a 1 liter bottle at each corner. The rules haven't been published yet but it appears the object is for the robot to travel in a figure-eight path around the bottles in the minimum amount of time.

The rules are there, posted 25 Jun 2007 at 17:57 UTC by steve » (Master)

My bad folks, the full rules can be found at the above URL. So get those robots going and enter the contest!
