Talking Robots: Martin Hägele

Posted 20 Jul 2007 at 09:12 UTC by mwaibel Share This

The new Talking Robots episode interviews Martin Hägele on the European robotics market. Hägele is the head of the Robot Systems Department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA in Stuttgart, Germany. He draws from his long experience of coordinating research and development for industrial and service applications and from his role in numerous Robotics Networks (SMErobot™, IFR, EURON, EUROP) to give us a deep insight into the position of industrial robotics in Europe. Hägele looks beyond classical areas like the automotive industry into applications in areas like entertainment, research, household robots and the military and points to ways in which the many great robots now confined to research laboratories might make it onto the market and into our home.
