Despite a much lower new profile than the previous Grand Challenge events, the DARPA Urban Challenge has rolled ahead to the qualification phase. The actual competition will occur on Saturday 3 November at 6pm PT. You'll be able to watch a live webcast of the event on the DARPA Urban Challenge website. Meanwhile, check out Team CajunBot's adventures in the qualifying rounds, a New York Times article that mentions Stanford's robot, named Junior. Wired also posted a new article on Junior and one on Boss, CMU's robot. You can also see plenty of YouTube video of Urban Challenge Robots doing their thing, including one shot of a minor crash during qualifications.
