The Kawato Dynamic Brain Project was started in 1996 with the goal of building a humanoid robot that duplicates many human sensory-motor learning mechanisms. Last week, the culmination of their research, Humanoid Robot DB was exhibited in Kyoto. DB demonstrated dancing, serving a tennis ball, balancing a rod in one hand, and mimicing movements of humans that it observes. DB is also part of the CyberHuman Project.
