Yes, it's yet another humanoid robot from Japan. Fujitsu has announced the development of a 48cm high humanoid robot called HOAP-1. Unlike many of the other Japanese humanoid robots, you can actually buy a HOAP-1. Not suprisingly, like most new robots (and embedded hardware in general) HOAP-1 runs Linux. The OS runs on an external computer which is connected to the robot via USB. The tether also supplies the power for the robot to operate. No price was announced but they are only projecting sales of 100 units over three years so it isn't likely to be cheap!
