Robots: Robot Toys

Posted 19 Dec 2008 at 17:18 UTC by mwaibel Share This

In the spirit of the holiday season, the latest episode of the Robots podcast is all about robots as toys. Robots speaks to Mark Tilden, compulsive robot builder (if you don't know him, see the thirteen previous posts on what he's been up to) and currently robot designer at WowWee Robotics. Tilden gives us an insight into the philosophy behind his robots that have sold in the millions, talks about designing robots for children and shares what he thinks that scientists and researchers can learn from the toy industry. To celebrate this merry season, the Robots podcast is also holding a contest to give away Tilden's latest creation, the Femisapien, to one of their listeners. For more information on Mark Tilden's work and on how to win just tune in!
