Markus Waibel writes, "A few weeks ago Robots celebrated its 1 year anniversary". Robots.net wishes Markus and all the Robot podcast crew a happy birthday and many more years of great podcasts! Beth Tucker of GlobalPost writes, "Italian scientists are developing DustCart, an on-demand robot trash collector. DustCart is part of a project called DustBot". A slashdot story brought good news of a Lithium-Air battery breakthrough that promises 10x the energy density of current lithium-ion batteries. Ronald C. Blue (remember the CORE processor?) sent us video of Little Blue, his "Analogy self programming robot" that "learns how to control itself in 15 seconds". Rog-a-matic spotted an interesting New Scientist article on the function of chaos in the brain. He also points out a photo gallery of robotic creations by Paul Loughridge who turns the chaos of junk into well ordered robot art. The Swirling Brain has been busy too, swirling up stories on Vernor Vinge's latest prediction that AI will exceed human intelligence by 2020, an autonomously reconfiguring space robot, and a plan to release a movie-version of the classic robot story R.U.R. in 2011.
