Posted 17 Oct 2001 at 13:14 UTC by steve Share This

Nando Times has a short article on the Ice-Crawler Rescue Robot. The Ice-Crawler is a tethered robot designed for search and rescue operation on ice and snow. The tether doubles as a tow-line that can be used to pull the rescued person to safety. The robot was built by Hanna and Heather Craig, juniors at East High School in Anchorage, Alaska and has won 2001 AFCEA National High School Science Fair. Hanna also made it to the nationals with her High School's team in last years FIRST competition.
