The post office may be using robots instead of humans to sort mail. Robots are also being used for surveillance, bomb and hazardous material disposal, and sentry duty. It is pointed out in the article that the UN Report was completed prior to the Sept 11 attack and doesn't reflect the large increase in sales of robots that has followed those events.
