Honda U3-X

Posted 15 Apr 2010 at 18:17 UTC by jlin Share This

The Honda U3-X appeared to be like a seated Segway, using gyroscopes to keep the unicycle vertical. The single wheel is actually an omni-directional wheel, with turning controlled by the operator tilting their body. The maximum speed however, is only 6 kilometers per hour, less than a third of the Segway's top speed. It lasts for about an hour and can carry a person of up to 100 kg (220 lbs). Where it really excels over the Segway is its small form-factor and its lightness, weighing only 10 kg (22 lbs). Honda has not yet released a price point, nor a release date.
