I caught the tail end of RobotGrrl's Robot Party tonight and learned that Heather Knight of the CMU Robotics Institute and Marilyn Monrobot is organizing the first ever Robot Film Festival. You have until June 5 to submit an entry. There's only one requirement for submissions: "please feature a robot as one of the main characters or framing devices of the narrative." So if you have a video camera and robot, you've got no excuse - get out there and start shooting the winning robot film right now! The actual festival will be on July 16-17, 2011 at the Three Legged Dog theater in Lower Manhattan. Winning films may receive a coveted "botsker" award. In the meantime, you can find updates on twitter @robotfilmfest
