Posted 11 Dec 2001 at 15:21 UTC by steve Share This

Texas Instruments has announced a new processor in its DSP line. The new chip, designated the C547x, includes their popular TMS320C5000 DSP, an ARM7 Thumb RISC processor, and a full set of system and peripheral controllers (including 10/100 ethernet). The new chip architecture is fully compatible with uCLinux, and the GNU tool chain. This one should have some interesting robotics possibilities.
