The Java Object Oriented Neural Engine (JOONE) project has released the first alpha version of their software. JOONE is composed of two components: a modular, scalable, multitasking, and extensible neural engine; and a GUI editor. The system is based on open standards such as XML and HTTP and aims to create a distributed environment that will allow user to develop a wide range of networks, algorithms, and applications. JOONE is free software licensed under the GNU GPL.
