A Linux-based High Speed Camera

LinuxDevices has an interesting article that describes the design and development of a High Speed Gated Image Intesnsified Camera. Andrey N. Filippov designed the image sensor for Elphel as a low-cost alternative to high speed cameras costing six figures. The sensor is controlled by a ETRAX RISC processor running linux. The control and imaging code is free software available under the GNU GPL license.
