NewScientist has posted an article about Cryobot, NASA's ice-melting robot. Cryobot is designed to melt its way through ice to reach sub-surface lakes or oceans. In the future Cryobot will be used to explore Lake Vostok in the Antarctic and Cryobot's successor may explore the oceans of Europa.
