UCLA nanotechnology researchers report the development of a working three-cycle, three-cylinder motor that is 11 nanometers in diameter. The motor is composed of molecules of ATP. The drive shaft, a single molecule, is attached to a 700 nanometer rotor device made of nickel. The motor can be stopped and started on demand. An old article from Scientific American includes some animations of the motor. The original paper describing the motor is also online.
