C & C Technologies has announced a new underwater survey service using a Kongsberg/Simard Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) called the HUGIN-3000. The HUGIN-3000 is the only commercial AUV in operation and can perform mapping at depths over 2700 meters using sensors that include multibeam bathymetry & imagery, dual frequency sidescan, and a subbottom profiler. The AUV can also maintain an acoustic telemetry link with a surface vessel while underway.
