New Scientist has an article on the latest surveillance UAV that's being developed. The SiMiCon Rotor Craft (SRC) can handle vertical take-off and landings and looks like a flying saucer. Wind tunnel tests are being done now and flying scale models are next. The first production unit is still 3 year away.
