Joe Jacobson has a solution for making semiconductor chips cheaper, and easier to make: "a 'desktop fab' able to print circuits directly on a substrate, such as plastic, without the expense and hassle of a multibillion-dollar manufacturing facility." If this becomes reality, says MIT's Technology Review, then everything will have chips from wallpaper, to custom-designed logic circuitry. Read More.
