LinuxDevices.com posted a new article comparing two freely available operating systems for embedded hardware. uCLinux is a Linux distribution targetted at smaller CPUs that lack an MMU. eCos (Embedded Configurable Operating System) is Red Hat's second entry in the embedded arena and, while it is Free Software licensed under the GNU GPL, it is a completely separate codebase from their Embedded Linux product.
