The Electronic Tongue

UK Researchers from the Cardiff University Laboratory for Applied Microsystems have announced the development of an electronic tongue that can "taste" gas and liquids. More precisely, the tongue is a chromatography sensor that is part of a development project called Laboratory On A Chip that is funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. Applications for the sensor include detecting pollutants in rivers and impurities in factory processing systems.
