Consciousness an Electromagnetic Field?

Posted 16 May 2002 at 18:47 UTC by steve Share This

The latest issue of the Journal of Consciousness Studies includes a paper by Johnjoe McFadden proposing the theory that the brain's electromagnetic field is consciousness itself. The theory is suprising and unproven but would explain a number of previously intractable problems of consciousness. McFadden's article is entitled, Synchronous firing and its influence on the brain's electromagnetic field: evidence for an electromagnetic field theory of consciousness, read it and decide for yourself. UniSci has a brief summary of the news. It's worth noting that McFadden is also the man who brought you Quantum Evolution.
