Controlling Robots with the Mind

The new issue of Scientific American includes an interesting article on recent advances in ability to read brain activity and use it to control robots. In their initial experiment a monkey's thoughts control a robot arm located 600 miles away. There could be immediate medical applications in the field of neuroprosthetics for thought-controlled robotic wheelchairs and eventually limbs.
