The second X-45A UCAV demonstrator completed its first test flight recently according to a DARPA press release (PDF format). The first X-45A has now completed five test flights and 60% of the airworthiness test objectives so far. The flight control software has also been upgraded to the next level of autonomous operation, using what DARPA refers to as "point, click, and kill". A single operator can now control multiple X-45A robots by simply designating targets. Future plans should allow for completely autonomous operation. For more info see our previous X-45A articles.
