Honda has announced a new version of the ASIMO humanoid robot that includes posture and gesture recognition. The robot also supports face recognition and can interact with humans and address them by name. Among the new interactions is the ability to shake hands or wave in response to the actions of a nearby human. The new model will be available for rental to companies in January.
