According to a story in the OC Register, Disney engineers are building a life-size, untethered, walking, animtronic dinosaur. The robot dinosaur will be radio controlled by a hidden operator, so it doesn't qualify as a true autonomous robot but it will still be an impressive engineering feat. Disney expects to show the dinosaur in public at either California Adventure or Disneyland in spring of 2003.
