A new CNN article covers the latest on the iRobot PackBots. The PackBots have incorporated a lot of improvements from lessons learned clearing caves in Afghanistan. The robots may be used heavily in future wars, not just for clearing terrorist caves and hideouts but as scouts in urban combat areas and other high-risk missions.
